AMTP to make redundant over 100 employees
Due to decrease in cargo throughput in Bakaritsa region, Arkhangelsk (handling area of Arkhangelsk Commercial Seaport, AMTP) has a plan to make 108 employees redundant, informed Alexandr Novikov, the member of a regional assembly, with reference to a trade union.
As per IA Regnum, Novikov has the information on Bakaritsa industrial region close down. He is sure, if the residents of the left bank of Arkhangelsk are deprived of their jobs it may lead to criminalization of the area and will make social state more intense.
As PortNews informed earlier, cargo throughput of this port decreased as a result of opening bridge breakdown: only small river vessels are now able to call at off-shore harbour Bakaritsa.
Handling area Bakaritsa Arkhangelsk Commercial Seaport OJSC is located on the left bank of the Northern Dvina. The area is specialized in transhipment of various cargoes of Arctic directions, as well as export cargoes: pulp paper, paper, ply wood, lumber, coal, metal scrap. A direct exit to the main way Arkhangelsk-Moscow is a significant advantage of the area.
