Seaport of St.-Petersburg GC container terminal takes delivery of 8 frame cranes
Another set of pneumatic-tired frame cranes (RTG) was delivered at the terminal of Forth Stevedoring Company (St.-Petersburg, a part of Seaport of St.-Petersburg group of companies) on October 22, 2009. The cranes are to be involved in handling 20, 30, 40, 45-feet containers. The unloaders had passed a preliminary acceptance at Konecranes plant in Hanko, Finland. Seaport of St.-Petersburg GC specialists checked the compliance of the unloaders produced with the technical specification of the delivery contract. Only 8 out of 10 planned RTG were taken delivery of to the date, informed Management for foreign and local communications of Seaport of St.-Petersburg OJSC
Crane platform construction (120 thousand m2) is completed to the date. Platform surfacing with a reinforced asphalt-cement-concrete operation layer Densiphalt was started on October 15, 2009. Refrigeration stands of metalwork are installed in the back of the terminal, buildings of distribution-transformation boxes N 1 and N 2 have been constructed.
Works on crane-rail preparation are being carried out at moorage101В, after which the first set of STS-unloaders will be delivered in November, 2009.
Delivery of container-unloaders STS, RTG, forklift trucks, marine tractors etc for empty containers, reach-stackers, trailers, and optional equipment will be carried out till end QI, 2010.

Construction of the first stage of the container terminal (capacity 350 thousand TEU) at a place of coal, earth, metal scrap and timber transhipment facilities within the program on JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” development was started in 2008.
