Maersk starts a new dedicated feeder service in Iraq
Maersk Line announces a new dedicated feeder service between Jebel Ali (UAE) and Umm Qasr (South Port terminal), linking Iraq to trading partners in the region and beyond.
The new service offers major improvements over existing services. A Maersk-owned US Flag vessel will be deployed on the rotation.
The service also includes Kuwaiti-operated terminal services dedicated to Maersk Line. This will enable Maersk to consolidate all it operations to a single container yard and provide highly professional terminal services.
Maersk commences operations in the beginning of November with the first call at Umm Qasr scheduled for 14 November, and new services including reefer acceptance, inland haulage and Maersk own sales representation planned for the near future.
