CMA CGM hikes northbound trans-Atlantic rates
French container carrier CMA CGM is seeking a further rate increase on freight from the East Coast of South America to Mediterranean, Persian Gulf and North European ports.
The rate increases will apply to all cargo and commodities moving northbound, effective Nov. 1.
The increase will be $200 per 20-foot equivalent unit, dry or reefer.
The bunker surcharge will continue to be split and applied on top of the basic freight levels, on a variable basis.
