MMTP OJSC net profit up by 33.4%, Q I-III 2009
Net profit of Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC (MMTP OJSC) increased by 33.4% (amounted to RUR 885.8 mln) within 9 months, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of 2008, as of the data indicated by the company.
JSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport was established in 1994 on base of the public enterprise and nowadays it is one of Russia’s busiest ports. The port has 17 berths with total length of some 3,000 meters. The length and depth enables the port to handle vessels of up to 15.5 meters in draft and over 265 meters in length. The port mainly handles non-ferrous metal and alloys, rolled ferrous metal, coal, apatite concentrate, alumina; scrap metal and iron-ore pellets, chemicals in big-bags, construction materials, foodstuffs, technological equipment and containerized cargo. In 2008 the company handled 14,329,183 tons of cargo.
