Port of Kaliningrad to resume transhipment of Byelorussian fertilizers

Transhipment of Byelorussian fertilizers will be resumed in the Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport in nearest future. Port’s Administration managed to agree on the matter with Byelorussian representatives, stated Rossiiskaya gazeta today.

There is information that the port will be able to handle about 200,000 tons of Byelorussian potassium fertilizers at the first stage. Besides, Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport will be able to resume transhipment of Byelorussian machine-building units.

As per Vladimir Kaminskii’s opinion, Director for Strategic planning and business development of По Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport, ‘Byelorussia is a potential partner that we can seriously work together for a long time’.

It is necessary to remind, in 2007 a specialized terminal for fertilizers transhipment was built in the port of Kaliningrad. But it was not operated due to the absence of contracts. More details on cargo transhipment in the port of Kaliningrad are here.
