OOCL names new U.S. president
OOCL named Erxin Yao president of its business in the United States, the ocean carrier announced Thursday, on the retirement of Peter Leng.
Leng, who has been with the Hong Kong-based carrier for 33 years, will retire Jan. 1. Yao, currently managing director of OOCL (China), will be transferred from Shanghai to California and take up the position of president of OOCL (USA).
Yao will also become a member of OOCL’s Executive Committee and a Director of OOCL.
OOCL also is transferring Stephen Ng, currently senior vice president for the trans-Pacific for OOCL (USA) to Hong Kong as trans-Pacific director, effective Jan. 1.
Paul Devine, now vice president for the trans-Atlantic trade in New York, will relocate to San Ramon, Calif., as senior vice president of sales.
Pamela Tung will take up the position of director for the trans-Atlantic, based in Hong Kong.
As of Nov. 1 Henry Wong will relocate to Hong Kong to take up the position of director of the corporate logistics department. Wong is currently head of OOCL Europe.
The regions department will report to Bosco Louie, who will take up the position of director of a new regions management department.
