Maersk to axe 100 French jobs
Maersk France plans to axe up to 105 jobs at its Le Havre, Marseilles and Paris offices, according to a General Confederation of Labour source.
A company restructure would involve the displacement of workers from Marseilles to Maersk Frances office in Le Havre and the eventual closure of the Marseilles office, the source told Fairplay yesterday.
Maersk France, which employs 360 workers at its three French locations, declined to comment on the cutbacks.
The labour source told Fairplay that the restructuring of Maersk France would go ahead between now and June 2010.
