Vinashin resumes construction of Cua Viet Shipyard
Vinashin Business Group (Vinashin) will continue a project to build Cua Viet Shipyard in the central province of Quang Tri after a delay due to financial difficulties, the Nhan Dan newspaper reported
Vinashin announced last year it would spend VND 1.5 trillion (US$94 million) on rebuilding the Cua Viet seaport in the central Quang Tri province. It had planned to turn Cua Viet into a 300 to 400 hectare port complex with a shipyard, ecotourism facilities, a golf course and a wharf to accommodate 100,000-ton ships. As part of financial restructuring it is thought that anything non-core such as ecotourism facilities and golf courses will have been ditched to get the project back on track.
