Pool of Primorsk (Leningard region) shipyard investors defined
A pool of investors of shipbuilding yard in Primorsk (Leningrad region) and its location are defined. As PortNews IAA learnt from Grigorii Dvas, Vice-Governor of Leningrad region, in the course of II Annual International conference ‘Trilogia’, the shipyard shall be constructed to the west from Primorsk within the city boundaries. Design documentation is being prepared and technical-and-economic explanation of the project is being studied to the date.
Grigorii Dvas refused to name the project investors with reference to commercial secret. He only mentioned that pool of investors is only preliminary defined. Leningrad region administration does not constitute its part.
It is as well necessary to remind the project of a new shipyard in Primorsk of Vyborg shipyard implies building of vessels (200,000 tons water displacement) for gas shipment, ice-class tankers ( over 100,000 tons displacement) and drilling platforms. The project together with its infrastructure is estimated RUR58 bln. Working design elaboration and state appraisal passing are planned to be completed in August, 2010. Late September, 2009 Vnesheconombank approved first tranche of RUR700 mln for Vyborg Shipyard OJSC (VSZ, Leningrad region) for construction of a new shipyard in Primorsk.
