Rosmorport rejects Prosecutor’s Office accusations it has breached anti-trust legislation citing regional antimonopoly agency

"Rosmorport" disagrees with the statement of Southern Prosecutor’s Office for Transport accusing Rosmorport of abuse of law, citing a report of the regional Antimonopoly Service of Rostov on the audit of Rosmorport’s affiliate in Taganrog. According to press release published by "Rosmorport, the report of regional antimonopoly agency, quoted by the Prosecutor's office, in fact did not contain any information that would prove Rosmorport violated the legislation.

South transport prosecutor's office in a document posted on its website alleged "Rosmorport" had violated procedures while bidding for dredging contract. As a result the dredging works were overcharged, the Prosecutor’s Office said. Meanwhile, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Rostov region filed a case against "Dredging" KaspTransForm and the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Azov Control of sea routes” accusing these companies offended against antitrust law.

As to "Rosmorport", the regional antimonopoly agency did not institute legal proceedings against the company, which strongly denied it violated anyhow tender procedure or overcharged the contract.

Full version of the document of Rostov regional office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service dated by November 12, 2009 and the regulations dated by November 18 2009 are posted on www.portnews.ru
