RZD Board of Directors approves the idea of the company’s joining International Railway Union as a full member, Vladimir Yakunin, head of RZD, reports according to ITAR-TASS. Yakunin thinks it will mean new possibilities for adaptation to international processes of Europe and other regions of the world and contribute to development of world transport market. At the same time, close cooperation of the Union members will increase attractiveness of Russia’s transport communications for trade-economic links between Europe and Asia. One of the most important achievements of negotiations between RZD and International Railway Union is introduction of Russian language as a working language of the Union and the idea to hold World executive council and general assembly of the Union in Moscow.
