The Polonia crew members are released in Nigeria

All 12 crew members hijacked by pirates in the night of July 2 from the German owned Polonia anchored at an oil terminal in Nigeria were released yesterday, the Nigerian military sources reported.

"I can officially confirm that they are released,” ITAR-TASS quoted Col. Timothy Antiga as saying. Mr. Antiga is an official representative of the security forces deployed in the area of oil fields in southern Nigeria. “The sailors have been sent to Bonnie, the major oil terminal in the Niger Delta, where the German tanker is anchored”.

The Polonia’s international crew members are Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine nationals. One sailor, a Ukrainian national was reportedly wounded in that pirates attack.
