According to Paldiski Sadamate AS’ provisional data, the stevedoring company, operating at Paldiski North Port (Estonia’s North-West), boosted its 2009’s turnover to 75m kroons while its loss rose to 91m kroons, the Baltic Course reports citing LETA/Äripäev.ee.
In 2009, Paldiski Sadamate AS increased its consolidated sales revenue to 75.4m kroons, a nearly 52-percent surge. 20% of the revenue were received from the port’s charges for ships calling at Paldiski North Port, 35% came from offering stevedoring services to freight owners.
Last year, the Paldiski North Port refocused from Russian transit cargoes to Europe (mainly Scandinavia) and Russian imports. The main cargo categories handled by the port’s terminal were general cargo, containers and transit of new cars.
