Kaliningrad Port posts a 42-percent freight traffic growth, to 1,63m tons

Six-month trade flows via Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP) rose 42.35% over the same period last year, to 1 million 625.9 thousand tons, the Port Authority statistics said.
In the reporting period exports passing via the port amounted to 1,268,500 tons, a 42.6-percent rise. The outbound cargo volume includes 277.500 tons of petroleum products (+25.28%), 757.500 tons of ferrous metals (+66.7%), 101,900 tons of coal and coke (a 1.5 times as much growth).
Half-year cargo volume handled by the stevedoring company rose to 357.400 tons of imports (a 41.3-percent gain).
In June KSCP transshipped 251.500 tons, 2.38 times more than in 2009.

Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is the stevedore operating at the Port of Kaliningrad. The PK is a hub for almost all types of transport and major  export-import flows passing through the area. The stevedore’s throughput reported for 2009 was at 2,186.100 tons.
