Vladivostok Terminal posts a 55-percent six-month surge, to 134,510 TEUs

Freight traffic via Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) in the first half of 2010 jumped from 2009’s numbers by 55% to 134,510 TEUs, the stevedore press release said.
In Jan-June VCT handled 51,265 TEUs of outbound containers, 37,635 TEUs of inbound, short sea trades reached 45,151 TEUs. Refcontainers volume amounted to 13,500 TEUs.

June cargo turnover at VCT dropped to 25,830 TEUs, down 0.40% from this year’s May and surged by 66.73% as compared with June 2009. Overall, in June VCT handled 40 ships, 5 vessels less than in May. Average turnover per vessel amounted to 627 TEUs.

Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT LLC), a container terminal operating at the port of Vladivostok. VCT is capable of processing all types of containers, and cargo of almost any size and weight. In 2009, VCT’s throughput amounted to 205,518 TEUs, a year-over-year 15-percent drop.
