Krasnoyarsk Port Dudinka starts summer navigation

A Norilsk Nickel’s asset, the Polar Transport Branch, (Dudinka, Krasnoyarsk Territory) has been prepared for handling operations this summer, NN’s press service said.  

All of the port’s berths will be operable by mid-July.

PTG is expected to transship during this navigation season about 2 million tons of cargo carried by river ships and about 1 million tons of seaborne cargo.

The company said 95% of all inbound cargo are delivered for Norisk Nickel’s enterprises in Norilsk industrial region, 5% of goods are commercial.

An earlier report said the berths of Dudinka Port had been flooded by recent high water.

Port Dudinka (Krasnoyarsk region) is located above the Arctic Circle, on the right bank of the Yenisei River, 2 km north of Krasnoyarsk. The port is accessible year-round from Archangel and Murmansk by sea transport. During the summer navigation – by river ships from Krasnoyarsk and Dixon.
