Saigon port cargo throughput down 38% in Jan-June

Saigon Port has handled 5.54 million tonnes of cargo so far this year, fulfilling 44.3 percent of the full-year target and down 38 percent from a year earlier, Lao Dong newspaper reported.
The port has seen an on-year drop of 85 percent in exports during the period, meeting only 24 percent of its target,
For 2010, Saigon Port hopes to make a pre-tax profit of US$2.3 million on revenues of $48 million.
