OOCL moves Polish feeder service to ICTSI Gdynia

Hong Kong-based container liner and logistics operator Ocean Overseas Container Line (OOCL) is transferring its container feeder service in Poland to International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in the Port of Gdynia. The transfer of OOCL’s feeder service from Gdansk to the BCT starts this July. The feeder service, which is part of the liner’s Scan Baltic Express (SBX) service, will have two calls a week.
“We welcome OOCL to Gdynia. We are glad that OOCL has chosen BCT because it confirms that BCT is in a better position to facilitate Polish trade,” says Krzysztof Szymborski, BCT president.
“Our strength in the areas of productivity, safety, technology and reliable customer service is our competitive advantage. OOCL will also benefit from our reasonable fees. Our total package, from the level of service to the value of what our clients pay for, is what the Polish market needs during these demanding times in the container transport sector,” he adds.
Szymborski sees the entry of OOCL in BCT as an oppotunity to forge a long term partnership.
On the othe hand, Leszek Walkusz, OOCL Polska country manager, said that OOCL’s collaboration with BCT “will prove beneficial for all parties participating in the transport process.”
“OOCL decided to start working with BCT because of its technological potential and the high professional skills of the terminal staff. This would further facilitate the development of OOCL in the Polish market,” he adds.
OOCL’s collaboration with BCT is seen to provide OOCL customers with best solutions with respect to technology, integrated container and logistics transport services.
OOCL is a recognized international provider of integrated container, logistics and terminal transport services. OOCL started its SBX service in Poland in 200.
BCT is one of the largest maritime terminals in the southern part of the Baltic Sea. Owing to its strategic location and being the largest reloading capacity in Poland, the terminal is considered as Poland’s "window to the world”. For many years it has been an undisputed leader in its sector, with its offer of quick and professional reloading of container goods.
