Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard started sea trials of the Oral tanker, the 3rd in a series of three vessels being constructed for national shipping company Kazmortransflot, MNP’s press office said.
Sormovo and Kazmortransflot signed the 3 crude carriers contract in April 2009. The shipping company took the delivery of the first tanker Atyrau in September 2009, of the second tanker Aktobe - in May 2010, the Oral was launched on May 8th.
The tanker’s LOA - 150 m, beam - 17,3 m, draft - 7,14 m, DWT – 13,470 tons. The tanker is designed to carry three brands of petroleum products, has a doubled hull, preventing oil spills, twelve cargo tanks of 14,770 cubic meters, two slop tanks and ballast tanks.
Kazmortransflot, the National Maritime Shipping Company established in 1998 specializes in transportation of all types of cargo, including crude and petroleum products, general cargo, containers, etc., in construction, operation and repair of all types of vessels, as well as the chartering and leasing of ships.
Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard is one of the oldest Russian shipbuilding enterprises, founded in 1849.
