RosTerminalUgol’s half-year throughput rises 9%, to 3,53m tons

Cargo turnover at RosTerminalUgol (Ust-Luga port) in six recent months grew by 9% as compared with the same period of last year, to 3,53 million tons, the company’s press-service said.

The RTU reports a 8.7-percent increase in handled rail cars, 50,580 units were processed, 3,483,000 tons of cargo (+8.6%) were offloaded and stored at the port’s warehouse.

The six-month volume increased thanks to the 3rd phase project facilities launched in Q2, 2010.

RosTerminalUgol OJSC, established in 1996, is a stevedore, operating at Ust-Luga Port (Leningrad region). It is part of KuzbassRazrezUgol Holding. The projected capacity of the terminal is 8 million tons a year.  The stevedoring company provides services for loading/offloading operations, freight forwarding, insurance services for goods and property, transactions risks. It operates and maintains the handling facilities at the Specialized Coal Transshipment complex at the seaport in the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. In 2009 RosTerminalUgol transshipped 7,083.538 tons of coal, handled 99,242 rail cars and 200 ships.
