Six-month throughput of China ports up18.9%, to 3.89bn tons

Freight traffic volume through the ports in China rose in January-June 2010 by 18.9% from the same period last year, to 3.89 billion tons, the Ministry of Transport of the PRC statement said.

 

Cargo turnover at the country’s seaports gained 18.2%, to 2.67 billion tons, at the river port - by 20.5%, to 1.22 billion tons

Container trade of Chinese ports during the same period increased by 22.3%, to 68.7 million TEUs, including seaports, by 22.1% (61.8 million TEUs), and river ports - by 24.3% to 6.8 million TEUs.
