Half-year freight traffic volume via the port of Nakhodka increased by 4.4% compared with the same period last year, to 8,09 million tons, PortNews IAA reports citing the Port Authority press release.
The volume of handled coal, coke, including charge and anthracite grew by 31%, to 1.36 million tons, ferrous metals - by 7.6%, to 2,407,000 of tons, oil products fell 1.3%, to 3.57 million tons.
The port's container throughput slumped 3.8 times, to 994 TEUs.
In June fright volume totaled 1.29 million tons, 5% down from last year’s June.
Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka on both sides. The year-round navigable port is connected with the railway network of Russia, Western Europe, Trans-Siberian Railway.
