Foreign trade turnover of Sakhalin Oblast for Jan-Jun. 2010 increased by 2.2 times in comparison with the same period of last year - to $ 6.556.000. Far Eastern Customs Directorate of the Federal Customs Service of Russia states, in value terms imports made up for 9.7%, export - 90.3%. Turnover made up 12.814.000 tones.
Foreign economic activities were carried out with 83 countries.
The first place takes Japan – foreign trade turnover made up $ 2 billion 830 million, then - Republic of Korea - $ 2 billion 88 million, China-$ 780 million, U.S. - $ 168 million and others.
In 6 months 12 672 000 tons of goods have been transported from the Sakhalin region with a total cost $ 5 923 000 million.
In value terms main exports items: oil - 71%, natural gas – 23.4%, seafood – 1.6%, etc.
What concerns other figures, more than 142 thousand tons $ 633 million worth were imported to the Sakhalin region,
Major Imports: machinery, equipment and vehicles - $ 470 million, metals - $ 138 million, mineral products - $ 31 million, the chemical industry - $ 27 million, etc.
