Volume of freight turnover at Ukranian seaports increased by 0.4% for the 1st half of 2010

Volume of freight turnover at seaports of Ukraine increased by 0.4% for the 1st half of 2010,  Ministry of Transport and Communications states. The volume of export cargo increased by almost 5% and import - more than in 2 times.

According to operative data, the 1st half of 2010 is marked by a positive trend of growth of cargo handled at ports such as: Izmailsky (+69.9%), Mariupolsky (+39%), Feodosiisky (+33.9%) and Belgorod- Dnestrovskiy (+34.4%), at the Kerchensky (+18.1%) and Berdyansky (+11.4%).

Kherson Commercial Sea Port demonstrated the highest growth rates of cargo transit (more than in 3 times), Feodosisky (+53.1%), Mariupolsky (+21.5%) and Skadovsky (+3.1%).

Noteworthy, Commercial Sea Ports of Ukraine reduced turnover by 17% in 2009 versus 2008 - to 109.72 million tones. In total there are 18 Commercial Se Ports in Ukraine, all of them refer to state enterprises.
