Hong Kong’s H1 box volume up 16.1%, 11.4m TEUs

Container trade of the port of Hong Kong (China) in January-June increased by 16.1% from the H1, 2009 to 11.43 million TEUs, the Port Authority said.

In June 2010 the port’s container count port rose 16.7%, to 2 million TEUs.

Port of Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. Hong Kong's container throughput declined in 2009 to 14.6% year-over-year, to 20.9 million TEUs. The Hong Kong’s capacity is 456,000 ships a year.
