Los Angeles’ container throughput rises 15% in H1, to 3.66m TEUs

Container trade at the port of Los Angeles (U.S.) in six consecutive months increased by 15% compared with the same period last year, to 3.66 million TEUs, the Port Authority statement said.

The Port Authority posted for June volume 730.300 TEUs of handled containerized goods, a 32-percent gain.

Port of Los Angeles is the largest seaport of the United States. The Port’s area covers 3.5 hectares. It has 27 freight terminals for bulk, liquid cargoes, containerized cargoes and autos. Last year, the port of Los Angeles handled 6.7 million TEUs.The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach form together the U.S. port complex, one of the world’s biggest hub.
