The vessel is designed to a class of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) KM Ice 3 AUT1.

LOA - 89.96 m, the estimated length - 84.89 m, width 14,5 m, depth 7,5 m, draft LWL - 6,4 m, deadweight – 5,280 tons.
The Amethyst, lead ship of the series was laid on November 16, 2009. There have been six vessels under construction. The S. Korean Hyundai’s will build at its shipyard in China 10 multi-purpose seagoing dry cargo ships of project DCV36 with deadweight about 5,280 tons. The delivery time is scheduled until the end of 2011.
