Sovcomflot takes delivery of the Kirill Lavrov in Q3, 2010

The specialized Arctic shuttle tanker Kirill Lavrov, being currently under construction at Admiralty Shipyards in St Petersburg, is to be delivered to Sovcomflot in the 3rd quarter of 2010, Andrew Babakhanov, Chief of Sovcomflot’s  Fleet Operations said in an interview with Oil Expert.
 
Besides, he said, the company expects deliveries of the Aframax class tanker from a South Korean shipbuilder and the Suezmax tanker from China.

An earlier report said the Panamax class 70,000dwt Kirill Lavrov tanker is designed to transport oil and gas condensate from Prirazlomnaya field (in the Barents Sea). Admiralty Shipyards had built the Mikhail Ulyanov tanker with similar characteristics. Sovcomflot got a $200m loan from VneshEconomBank for 7 years to finance the acquisition and further operation of the two tankers.
