Russian Govt liquidates Vysotsk Port Authority

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed a decree dated July 19, (N1224-p) on the liquidation of FSUE Authority of the Seaport of Vysotsk. The Order has been posted on the official Russ. Govt. website. Rosmorrechflot jointly with the Federal Property Management Agency are authorized to assign the assets remaining after the winding up of the enterprise, to the FSUE Authority of the Seaport Big port of St. Petersburg.

With the liquidation of Vysotsk Authority the Vysotsk Port’s integration into a single Authority of the Russia’s seaports located in the eastern Gulf of Finland.

An earlier report said, the Russian govt. had planned to establish six ports authorities: Kaliningrad, Finland Gulf and North (the base port of Murmansk), Far East, South and the Caspian. It is assumed that the authorities’ functions will include ice pilotage, navigational safety, search and rescue operations, coordinating of the rescue teams operations, etc. For these purposes, there will be 50 rescue vessels built and distributed between the federal port authorities. To date, the seaport Big Port of St. Petersburg Authority has already been authorized to manage the ports of St. Petersburg, Primorsk, Ust-Luga and Vyborg.
