Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., South Korea's No. 2 shipbuilder, said Wednesday that it has won a 310 billion won (US$262 million) order to build a car ferry for a Tunisian firm.
Under the deal with Tunisia's state-run Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation, Daewoo Shipbuilding will deliver the vessel by the first half of 2012, it said.
With the deal, Daewoo Shipbuilding now has won orders valued at over $5 billion so far this year. The shipbuilder aims at reaching $10 billion for the year.
