Yuzhny Port posts a ten-month throughput at 14.9m tons

In January-October this year the port of Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 14,846,200 tons of cargo, the company’s press service reports.
In ten recent months SE Yuzhny Port handled 591 vessels and 116,740 gondolas.
In October, the port’s statistics said, the company handled 1,646,500 tons of cargo.
In the reporting period Yuzhny was handling largely iron ore, coal and urea – a traditional cargo nomenclature for the state-run enterprise.
State-run Commercial Sea Port of Yuzhny founded in 1978 is located on the northwest coast of the Black Sea, in the ice-free Small Adzhalyksk (Grygoryivsky) estuary, 30 km northeast of Odessa. The Port is connected to the sea by a 3km-long 14-m-deep canal so pilotage service is required for inbound and outbound vessels. Last year the Port’s throughput shrank by 17.79% y-o-y, to 17,838 million tons.
