In January-September, Sea Port of Kavkaz (the Caucasus) of Krasnodar Territory boosted freight turnover by 22% compared with the same period a year earlier, to 7,184,000 tons of cargo, the Interfax reported.
In particular, loading of exported cargoes to anchored ships soared 36%, to 3.96 million tons, imported goods rose 1,5 times as much, to 733,600 tons.
The volume of exports handled at the port remained at the level of January-September last year and amounted to 2,488,400 tons. In the reporting period the port handled 2,169 ships, a 15.7-percent increase. Kavkaz train ferry handled 1.373 million tons (+28.5%).
