Ten-month cargo turnover of NUTEP up 11.7% to 102,500 TEUs

Throughput of Novorossiysk Nodal Transporting and Forwarding Company (OJSC NUTEP) in January-October 2010 rose 11.7% from the same period a year earlier, to 102,567 TEUs, the National Container Company (NCC) press service said.
 
In October this year freight traffic via the NUTEP terminal dropped by 20% month-over-month to 10,464 TEUs.
 
Exports flows through NUTEP terminal totaled in Jan-Oct. 5,550 TEUs, import volume reached 4,914 TEUs. Proportion of laden and empty containers was 61% to 39%, respectively.
 
In October, the terminal handled 14 vessels. Average turnover per vessel was 747 TEUs.
 
National Container Company (NCC) is the largest and leading container operator in Russia. The owners of the NCC in equal shares are the First Quantum Group and the FESCO Transport Group. In 2009, container volume passing through NCC’s terminals amounted to some 1.2 million TEUs, contributing 42.1% to total container turnover of Russian ports.

NCC’s portfolio of assets includes First Container Terminal (FCT, St. Petersburg), NUTEP Container Terminal (Novorossiysk), UKRTRANSCONTAINER Container Terminal (Ilyichevsk, Odessa region, Ukraine), Ust-Luga Container Terminal (Leningrad region) and Logistics Terminal (Shushary, St. Petersburg).
