New York-New Jersey Port maintains security level

Customs and Border Protection has not yet increased the level of cargo scrutiny in the Port of New York and New Jersey in the wake of the discovery Friday of two bombs hidden in printer cartridges sent by airfreight from Yemen to Chicago.
Jim Devine, president and CEO of GCT USA, which operates Global Terminals and New York Container Terminal, said he checked with CBP first thing Monday morning to see if he needed to change the level of security at those two terminals. "I'd be surprised if we don't, but I've heard nothing yet," Devine said.
Security officials at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey did not immediately return calls requesting comment.
