Ten-month throughput of KSCP soars 49.5%, to 2,6m tons

Freight turnover of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC (KSCP) in January-October 2010 jumped by 49.5% from to the same period last year, to 2,615,300 tons, the Port Authority statistics said.

In the reporting period exports volume handled by the stevedore surged 52% from Jan-Oct., 2009 to 1,919,100 tons. The ten-month volume of outbound cargo includes 336,500 tons of petroleum products (+10.6%), 1,147,000 tons of ferrous metals (a 1.9 times growth), 173,700 tons of coal and coke (+31%).

In Jan-Oct., 2010 the stevedoring company handled 696,200 tons of imports, a 42.9-percent rise from the same period a year earlier.

In October 2010, KSCP transshipped 240,600 tons of cargo, or up 1.4 times vs last year’s figure.

Kaliningrad Commercial Sea Port JSC is a company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad, a hub for almost all types of transport and major export-import freight flows passing through the region. In 2009 the stevedore’s throughput totaled 2,186,100 tons.
