South Korean carrier Hanjin Shipping posted 2010 third-quarter sales of US$2.32 billion, operating profit of $314 million and net profit of $196 million, the Manila Bulletin.
As a result of cargo volume growth in major trades, the container division saw a 2.5 percent upturn in cargo volume to 977,386 TEUs quarter-on-quarter. Total sales also experienced a 18.6 percent rise up to $1.98 billion and operating profit was up 156.3 percent with $323 million quarter-on-quarter driven by the rate restoration of Asia-Europe and transpacific trade and peak season surcharges.
