Rosneft OKs a 3,100dwt bunker tanker project designed by DB Vympel

JSC Design Bureau Vympel (Nizhny Novgorod, part of Caspian Energy Group) in late October 2010 came to agreement with the customer JSC Rosneft about technical project specifications of a bunker ship with a deadweight of 3100 tons (project 00211) and submitted the technical documentation for consideration to the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, the Vympel press service said.

The bunker tanker was designed to take, carry and transfer ship-to-ship four grades of petroleum products at a time without temperature flash restrictions with density ranging from 0,7 to 1,15 t/cbm. The bunker ship is intended for operation in the northern regions of Russian Far East.

Nizhny Novgorod-based Design Bureau Vympel was founded in 1927 on the basis of the Leningrad branch of the Central Bureau of Maritime shipbuilding. The DB named RechSudoProekt that stands for “The State Office for the design of river and sea vessels" acquired a status of independent organization in 1930. To date, DB Vympel has become a universal design organization, one of the leading Russian maritime bureaus designing civil vessels of different classes and purposes and auxiliary ships for the Russian Navy.

Group CNRG was established in 2006. The company’s key activities are design, construction and installation of equipment for offshore oil and gas deposits development. The Group comprises three divisions: engineering (Center of Marine Technologies “Shelf”, CDB Corral, DB Vympel, DB Caspiy and SDB Astramarin), construction (Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association (ASPO) and service (Crane Marine Contractor LLC).
