The weekly service, called the AEC1, will operate with six vessels, each with capacities between 3,800 and 5,000 20-foot equivalent units.
The port rotation is Khorfakkan, Port Qasim, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), Pipavav, Port Said, Thamesport, Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam, and back to Khorfakkan.
The estimated transit times from Nhava Sheva are: 9 days to Port Said; 16 days to Thamesport; 17 days to Antwerp; 19 days to Hamburg; and 21 days to Rotterdam.
South Korean carrier Hanjin Shipping will charter slots on the service with fixed space allocation of 200 TEUs a week from Indian ports.
The first vessel sailing from Nhava Sheva is scheduled for Nov. 18.
