Vostochny Port handles over 12,48m tons in Jan-Oct, last year’s result

Freight traffic volume of Vostochny Port (Russia’s Primorsky Territory) handled by the stevedore in January-October, 2010 remained at the last year’s level, or 12,482,600 tons of different cargoes, the company’s press service reports citing the operational data of the main control room.
In October this year Vostochny Port JSC transshipped 1,457,800 tons of cargo or 34% up from the same period a year earlier.

In ten recent months Universal Handling Complex (PPC-1) handled 2,366,600 tons of various cargoes, a 19-percent gain. In October, the PPC-1 transshipped 271,000 tons of cargo, up 16% from October last year.

In Jan-Oct. PPC-3, the Specialized Coal Terminal’s throughput soared 97% to 10,116,000 tons compared with the same period of 2009. In October, the complex handled 1,186,800 tons, 39% more than a year earlier.

Vostochny Port JSC is the largest stevedoring company in the Russia’s Far East. The company specializes in transshipment of coal using the conveyor equipment. The Vostochny Port’s assets include a Specialized Coal Complex and a Universal Production and Handling Facility intended for transshipment of general and bulk cargoes (coal, coke, clinker, iron ore, timber, etc.). The stevedore is capable to handle metals, pulp, aluminum, chemical, long-sized and heavy cargoes. Last year, the Vostochny Port’s throughput fell 3% to 14.585.800 tons.
