CPV’s ten-month cargo turnover is up 15.2% to 6m tons

Freight flows handled by JSC Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok (CPV) in January-October 2010 rose by 15.2% compared with the same period of 2009, to 6,004,500 tons, the stevedore’s press service reports citing the director of production of CPV Sergei Lopunov.

Exports volume handled by the stevedore in the reporting period rose to 3,458,200 tons, imports – to 1,236,100 tons, short sea trade volume totaled 1,310,200 tons.

CPV transshipped 277,918 TEUs of containerized cargo, including 102,832 of outbound containers, 87,921TEUs of inbound containers and 87,165TEUs of coastal traffic.

In October 2010, the stevedoring company handled 656,400 tons of cargo: 365,900 tons of exports, 141,800 tons of imports and 148,700 tons of home trade.
 
Box throughput of CPV in October reached 33,149 TEUs, including 12,631 TEUs of exported container, 10,822 TEUs of imported containers and 9,696TEUs of short sea shipping.

According to Sergei Lopunov in January-September 2010, despite a slight decrease, about 4.4%, in exports flows, the company has seen a significant increase in volume of imports and coastal trade cargo - by 56% and 62% respectively. This positive trend allowed CPV to fulfill this early November the annual plan for cargo handling, which amounted to 6,110,000 tons.
JSC Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok holds and manages assets at the sea port of Vladivostok, one of the largest seaports in the Russia’s Far East. CPV operates 17 berths, including the specialized ones - container, passenger, and automobile. CPV is part of the FESCO Transport Group. Last year’s throughput of the stevedoring company rose by 4.9% year-over-year, to 6.205.100 tons.
