Ten-month throughput of VCT soars 45% to 239,362 TEUs

Container traffic through Vladivostok Container Terminal (VCT) in January-October, 2010 jumped by 45% from the same period a year earlier, to 239,362 TEUs, the stevedore’s press service reports.
In October 2010, cargo turnover rose 26,942 TEUs, a 5.2-percent gain month-over-month and a 15.8-percent increase vs October, 2009.

Monthly volume of exports handled by VCT reached 10,610 TEUs, imports – 8,104 TEUs and 8,777 TEUs of coastal traffics.

In October of the year, the company handled 34 vessels, as many as in September. Average turnover per vessel amounted to 792 TEUs.

Vladivostok Container Terminal LLC (VCT), a container terminal, operating in the port of Vladivostok, is capable of handling all types of containers, and cargo of almost any size and weight. Last year’s throughput of VCT amounted to 205,518 TEUs, a 15-percent drop y-o-y.
