MMFP’s nine-month throughput up 10% to 242,000 tons

Freight volume handled by JSC Murmansk Marine Fish Port (MMFP) in January-October 2010 rose by 10% compared with the same period a year earlier, to 242,000 tons, the company’s press service reports.
 
In October this year, the stevedoring company offloaded 32,600 tons of fish, a 32-percent gain y-o-y. The operator handled 100 vessels, including 25 large capacity ships.

"According to preliminary applications the port expects in November 23,000 tons of fish,” said Anton Artemyev, Assistant General Director of JSC MSFP.

JSC Murmansk Marine Fish Port is a stevedoring company operating at the port of Murmansk specializing in transshipment of cargo from fishing boats, mother ships and reefers. Russian Govt holds a 100-percent stake in MMFP the Federal Agency for Federal Property Management and the governmental Federal Property Fund. In 2009, freight turnover of MMFP increased by 36% year-over-year, to 255,000 tons of fish.
