Freight volume handled at the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) in January-October 2010 rose by 19% vs last year’s figures, to 9,766,000 tons, the Ust-Luga Company’s press service said. In ten recent months the port’s operators transshipped 48,114 vehicles.
In October stevedoring companies of Ust-Luga port handled 1,374,000 tons of cargo, a 52.4-percent surge from September’s volume. There were 66 calls at the port in October, or 15,8% up month-on-month. The number of imported autos rose to 11,782 units.
