Andrei Aprelenko: Volume of crude oil via Belokamenka FSO expected at 15,6m tons this year

Crude oil shipment through the Belokamenka floating oil storage and offloading (FSO) vessel (a 360,000DWT supertanker moored at the port of Murmansk) is projected to reach 15.6 million tons, nearly the last year’s level, Andrei Aprelenko general director of Rosnefteflot CJSC (FSO Belokamenka operator) told in an interview with PortNews.

Ten-month volume of crude transshipped through the FSO facility totaled 11,804,000 tons. Over the last six, since the facility started operating Belokamenka FSO handled over 60 million tons, including 30.1 million tons of exported crude oil.

According to Mr. Aprelenko, for the same period the FSO offloaded oil onto 1544 tankers, including 304 tankers of 100,000dwt exporting liquid bulk.

He added that the port charges for the period of Belokamenka facility operation have amounted to $13 million, fees from coastal tankers calls - more than 95 million rubles. This year only about 115 million rubles of taxes from the Belokamenka project were channeled to the Russian budget.

"Talking about the future of the offshore terminal, we believe that the next 2-3 years the Belokamenka FSO will continue stable operation at a level of not lower than the previous volume of transshipment," Mr. Aprelenko said.
