Pacific Basin orders 10 bulkers from Chines shipyards

Pacific Basin Shipping Ltd. has ordered ten dry cargo ships from Chines shipyards, the Company press release said.

PBS entered into agreement with Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering Co. for construcition of six 35,000 dwt handysize bulk carriers for $25.5m a vessel, or $153 for total contract. The vessels are due to be delivered between the second half of 2012 and the first half of 2013, with options for two further ships to be delivered in the second half of 2013.

Besides, the Hong Kong shipping company ordered four 58,100dwt handymax bulkers worth $131.4m from Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding for $32.85m a ship, to be  delivered in 2013.
