Monthly volume of container trade was up 5.4% in October 2010 from the same period a year earlier, at 682,384 TEUs.
Port of Los Angeles is the largest seaport of the United States, covering the territory of 3.5 hectares. The port has a 69-km waterfront with 27 cargo terminals, including dry and liquid bulk, container, breakbulk, automobile and omni facilities. Last year, the port of Los Angeles handled 8.5 million TEUs, establishing a new national container record.
