Cargotec delivers a range of MacGregor transloading equipment for bulk export operations in India

In August, Indian bulk export specialists, M/s. VM Salgaocar & Bros. Pvt. Ltd signed an agreement with Cargotec for the supply of a range of MacGregor transloading equipment for handling iron ore at the company's new terminal in Goa, India. Cargotec's scope of supply will include following MacGregor equipment: cranes, hoppers, a deck-conveyor system with a rated capacity of 2,000 tph and a shiploader, the Cargotec Corp. press release said.

"The system will be tailor-made for the customer to suit its intended operations in Goa," notes Jonas Johansson, Cargotec's sales manager for Marine Selfunloaders. "Our customer wanted reliable, well-proven and robust technology that is designed for marine environments, and thus selected Cargotec for the project. We are also the only company that could deliver the complete material handling package that included both cranes and the conveyor system; this draws upon expertise from different business areas within Cargotec."

Cargotec will deliver its equipment by May 2011 and the terminal is scheduled to be operational in the latter half of next year.
