Ningbo container throughput up 31% to 11.2mln TEU in 10 months of 2010

Port of Ningbo handled 11.2m teu during the first 10 months of the year to end-October, up 31% year on year, setting a new record, Xinhua news agency reported. Also, the port's volumes of laden container exports in October exceeded 400,000teu for the first time since May. Ningbo Port Group's sea-rail intermodal business recorded a volume of 2,542 TEU in October and a total of 20,939 TEU for the first 10 months of the year.
