DCNS declines to comment on a €200,000 tranche for Baltic Shipyard

French National Shipbuilding Corporation DCNS declined to comment on the alleged transfer of a €200,000 tranche to St- Petersburg-based Baltic Shipyard to secure order for Mistral warship, PortNews reports citing the Corp.’s press service, which responded to the news agency’s request. The information on the transfer was reported by some Russian media quoting an anonymous source in the Russian defense industry.

Earlier reports said that Russian United Shipbuilding Corporation and French DCNS had formed a consortium that would participate in bidding for Mistral warship contract. Noteworthy, the Baltic Shipyard is a shipbuilding asset of United Industrial Corp., which is not part of the USC. Moreover, the tender outcome for the construction of the "Mistral" ordered by the Russian Defense Ministry has not yet been officially announced.
